I know it’s way early, but I’ve already started planning Baby Riley’s 1st Birthday Party. I figured that I better get started now since there are a ton of DIY Projects I want to make for it. I decided to go with a Ballerina Theme so I’m going to be making a lot of Tulle related projects, one of which is a DIY Pink Tulle Wreath (aka Tutu Wreath). I thought it was absolutely adorable and what’s more fitting for a Ballerina Party than a Tutu wreath?!?! This was a really easy project and didn’t take long at all to make!! You can make a Tulle Wreath in any color, so if you are looking for a seasonal wreath or an every day wreath this is a fun and festive project!!

Okay, Lets get started

Here is what you will need:

  • Embroidery hoop (I used the inside of a 14″ wood hoop)
  • Tulle (I used (4) 20 yard rolls of 6″ wide Tulle Ribbon )
  • Scissors
  • Measuring tape

Step 1: Cut pieces of Tulle (I cut mine so that they were approximately 10″ long)

Step 2: Before you begin tying your tulle onto the embroidery hoop tie a ribbon around it. This is going to be what you will hang the wreath by.

Step 3: Tie your tulle onto the embroidery hoop so that it’s even on both sides

Step 4: Continue tying pieces of tulle around your hoop until you get all the way around and your wreath is full

This is after using about 30 yards of 6″ wide Tulle Ribbon (1 1/2 rolls of Tulle Ribbon)

Using about 30 yards of fabric

Continue tying the tulle around the wood hoop until you get all the way around

Tulle Wreath

I wanted to add a little something to the Tulle wreath I made for Riley’s Birthday party, so I bought a wooden R at Michaels and Mod Podged it with Glitter. Then I tied it onto the wreath using a piece of tulle.
