Nursery Inspirations – Part 1

Most of you saw in my previous post My Biggest Project Yet that my husband and I are expecting our first child; however we don’t find out if our little one is going to be a girl or a boy until March 8th (I’m literally counting down the days until we find out), but in the meantime I’ve been looking for nursery inspiration for both boys and girls and have came up with a few for each, but today I plan to show you some of the nursery inspirations that I absolutely adore for baby boys.

Before I share some of my favorite nursery inspirations I want to give you a quick update on where we stand with the nursery. My husband started painting over the weekend; we painted the top half of the room a light beige and the bottom half a bright white. We are planning to install chair rail today and crown moulding this upcoming weekend (I eventually want to install wainscot paneling but that’s a little later). I also purchased a crib and dresser on Saturday, YAY!

As a side note, the act of purchasing the crib and dresser was one that I had been stressing over for weeks, I looked at hundreds of cribs both in-person and online, but have been SOOOO picky that I started thinking that finding the perfect crib and dresser in my price range was going to be impossible and I’m the type of person that when I get my mind stuck on a certain look it takes ALOT of persuading to get me to change my mind, and ultimately I end up unhappy or in my mind settling if it’s anything different than I originally wanted. Here is a little background as to what I wanted in a crib/dresser.

  • White or Antique White
  • Made of 100% wood
  • Classic style (which tends to be more girly but I know with the right colors and accent pieces it can go either way)
  • Budget $1,100

The crib and dresser I finally decided on was from Muniré’s Bristol Collection which I purchased at Baby Furniture Plus Kids. Luckily they were selling the floor model so I was able to get the crib and double dresser package for a total cost of $1,079.00.

Here is a photo of the crib and dresser

White  Muniré Crib from the Bristol Collection – It’s a little girly but I know if we end up having a boy I can turn it into a crib fit for a king!!

"Munire Bristol Collection Double Dresser"

The room we are turning into a nursery is fairly small so it won’t fit a lot of furniture, at least not comfortably, but I still have to get a glider, side table and possibly a bookshelf and of course all of the textiles and decorative accents, but finding the crib and double dresser is a start and I can honestly say it took a HUGE weight off my shoulders!!

Now on to the fun stuff…here are some of my favorite inspirations for boys nursery’s!

I hope you enjoy!!

  1. The first picture that you have posted under your inspirations for Boys Room that says Photo Via Act of Style below it with the cream nursery set. I am trying to find out where that cream crib and dresser set can be found. Do you know what name or place that set came from?

    • Hi there, the crib in the picture you are referring to is from Restoration Hardware Baby and Child (it’s http://www.rhbabyandchild.com I posted this awhile back so I’m not sure if they still carry this exact crib set, but they have some amazing pieces, so I’m sure if they don’t have the one you’re referring too that they will have something you love 🙂 I absolutely love their pieces, I purchased all of my daughters crib bedding and curtains from there.
